Interview with William.

Q: Why William the conqueror?
A: As in what gave me that name? Well in 1066 during the battle of Hastings, and I beat Harold and was crowned king of England. Being Duke of Normandy, that makes me, to this day, the last conqueror of Europe.
Q: How did you get control of new land?
A: Easy. I granted fiefs to Norman lords, to churches, kept some land for myself, monitored the castles, and all vassels swore their allegiance to me. SO BAM.
Q: wow. Well, anyways, what did you do with all that land?
A: Ahh, brilliant question. So brilliant. I asked myself that a lot... thought for hours about it... tried to dream the answer in my sleep. It never came...
Q:So you didn't do anything?
A: No. I did something great, although it sounds... bad. The Doomsday Book.
Q: What is the Doomsday book?
A: Well, it's a census of the kingdom, of all the people, property, buildings and livestock. I belive it brought along the present day executive branch.
Q: Thank-you for your time.
